Curious: I’ve been a successful branding photographer for over 10
years. If I created a mentorship program to help budding photographers interested in personal branding step more fully into creating a successful practice, would that be of interest to people?

I’d work with individuals on anything from creating client systems, marketing, best practices for culling images and editing, tips and tricks on how to pose and work with clients, and how to navigate your camera settings. I would personalize mentorship to each individuals needs and skills.

Do you ever notice that no matter how splendid life is, no matter how blessed we are, that sometimes life can feel excruciating? The edges are not always smooth, and those jagged edges can hurt. I’ve been witnessing myself in a spiral of anxiety and dissatisfaction. But I’m reminded that just a few weeks ago, I could have claimed my life could not have been better.
Then one day, anxiety sneaks in. One wave at a time. One wave seemingly inviting the next. Eventually I am fed up with all things and afraid that I will never be normal again and find myself overwhelmed with all of it. Oh life…. You keep me on my toes.

But here is the thing…. My life is NO different today than any other day. Aside from the normal ebbs and flows. Sure we have a puppy and that can come w challenges and the kid just got diagnosed w Mono. Sure both can be a bummer but this is life. There’s no getting away from the end and flows.

This phenomenon makes me curious of this human condition of seemingly forgetting to find the beauty, losing sight of gratitude, seemingly losing myself. This I believe is the opposite and equal side of love, bliss and freedom.

We must know one extreme to know the other. And, I want to normalize that even if you have everything you ever dreamt of, life can still feel challenging.

Yes, compared to so many others, it’s easy to push away the hard feelings and slap on a fake smile in an attempt to remember your bliss. Feeling these feelings does not make me inconsiderate of others with terrible circumstances, it makes me human.

A normal everyday, exquisite and flawed human feeling the full spectrum of human emotions available to each and everyone of us.

Today, I sit in my discomfort to welcome all of my experiences. I’ve decided to sit in the bath and ask my higher self for wisdom. This is what I got.

Maybe it can help you give yourself grace if you find yourself walking a similar human experience.

I’d like to introduce you to the newest member of our family.
Meet Rooster (Roo). He is a sweet rescue from Mexico/Street Dog Hero.

Roo is a still trying to decide whether or not he likes this snowy weather. It’s a lot colder than Baja. We do know he is thrilled about his new living situation and is settling in nicely. He is easy going and chill and aims to please.

We’re getting started w training and the goal is to have a super well trained dog in the house!

He’s finishing up his vaccines next week, so we’re not doing dog parks yet, but he is allowed to play with vaccinated friends.
