How to Take Care of Yourself in a Crisis

It's impossible to overstate how quickly and how deeply the coronavirus crisis has changed how we work and live. It's hard to take care of yourself right now. The COVID-19 outbreak affects every aspect of our lives — our health, families, careers, finances, and more — and while everyone is experiencing this moment in a different way, this much is clear: everyone is affected. And everyone needs support. That's why taking this time to …

What is Brand Photography?

Branding is so much more than just logos, colors, and fonts. Your business's visual identity consists of many different elements, from photography to social media. But what is brand photography, and why is it such a big deal? More importantly, do you really need it? Most business owners have worked hard to develop our brands and business into what they are today. It would be a shame to see an entrepreneur's reach fall short for …

Women Who Manage to be Both Entrepreneurs and Mothers

Thank you, Paige Loczi of the incredible LOCZIdesign, for an inspiring photo shoot. The month of May brings Mother's Day celebrations, so SHE is especially mindful of the phenomenon that is the mamapreneur: those women who manage to be both entrepreneurs and mothers, shaping not only their families, but also our world. Paige, who is both a mother and designer, exemplifies this powerful woman. I am so honored to have been captured by …

Celebrating Mompreneurs This Mother’s Day with SHE Photography

In honor of Mother’s Day, SHE celebrates mompreneurs. You are creative forces of nature, changing the landscape of business, art, and commerce—all the while still caring for your families. You are, mamas, the very definition of inspiring. SHE founder Suzette Hibble says “I particularly love to photograph mompreneurs because I am one. It’s not always easy to be both a mother and an entrepreneur. But photography has given me the …

My Journey of YES!

While it is true that we each have our own sacred path of Destiny to traverse, I also recognize a universality of our divine unfolding. I see so many of us desperately searching for our "Life Purpose", and aside from the "chosen few", who have "found it", suffering in its seeming absence. It's a potent paradox, because the truth is, we ARE the purpose… our very existence is Love's very own whole and complete Gift to Its Self… and yet we …

Lineage of Love

As I've traversed my journey through this human life, I've often mused that the relationship between mother and daughter is truly the richest and most complex there is.  This knowing became vivified after I gave birth to my own daughter.  No matter WHAT your relationship with your mother is, or is not, the fact remains-- you grew inside her body.  She gave you her most precious nutrients and energy, forming your beautiful body, and then …

ISO guidance on future training and career opportunities in the medical field.

As many of you have known I have been on quite a healing journey. For 15 years I struggled w chronic Lyme and co-infections. What I learned during this journey is that the Western Medical system has some huge gaps. It was when I explored Functional Medicine, Natuorpathic Medicine, Oriental Medicine, etc., that I finally got answers and started my healing journey.
2 years ago I embarked on a hard core journey to finally fully heal myself and was successful! a huge shout out to Patrick Lynch at Sky Ridge Accupuncture and Oriental Medicine. A combination of impeccable diet, herbs and Accupuncture were my solution. I am sold. I am grateful to all who have guided me on my path to this point. I’ve worked w some incredible doctors.
After so many years of diving in deep, I feel I know a lot, and there yet there is so much more to learn. I want to know more. I want to help others. I want to continue to learn about Functional Medicine, Nutrition, health, etc.
So my predicament, I’m obviously not going to medical school to become a doctor. I don’t have the bandwidth for that, I wish I did. What are my alternatives?
I’ve considered becoming a nurse or a Physicians Assistant. I’ve looked at online programs for Functional Nutrition.
I have not worked in health care in any form, so I don’t come with a background in this field other than a ton of personal experience.
I’d love to interview some of my friends who work in functional medicine, NP etc., to see what types of opportunities exist as a support person in this area. Leaving the functional medicine expertise to the doctors and allowing the follow up, nutrition, wellness support to someone like me. What type of training would I need? I’d love any suggestions. I’m looking at training through a company called Functional Nutrition Lab. But again without prior background as a nurse or nutritionist, I fear I may not have all the pieces. I’d love any suggestion or guidance. Or, if you would be willing to have a call with me, I’d love to pick your brain.
